Launched in October of 2013, the Golden Dove Gift Shop offers gifts for all occasions. Proceeds benefit the outreach of the parish. It is run entirely by volunteers. The gift shop is located in the rear of the Vestry House, just to the East of the church.
The Golden Dove has a variety of items for all ages that are unique, affordable and many made in the USA! The shop sells a number of Pohick-specific gifts—-the ever-popular apple butter and cookbooks, beautiful Pohick photos, note cards, tea canisters, porcelain mugs, historical vestry minutes, and music CDs of original songs by our "own" Rev. Don Binder!
Special handmade bags and figurines, along with holy water and other items from the Holy Land are also for sale in the shop. There are great gifts for the kids, including rulers, bookmarks (with books of the bible inscribed), "Melissa & Doug" markers and books, and finger puppets.
The shop has gifts for special occasions too --- manicure sets, bags, Honey Natural lip gloss and lotions, decorative pillows, and jewelry for Mother's day, graduations, and teacher gifts. Look for the ads in the Sunday bulletins and Pohick Post. There is also a clearance corner, along with food items, books, handmade all-occasion cards and a variety of Christian-themed gifts!
In its initial 18 months of operation, the Golden Dove made nearly $17,000 in gross sales. Proceeds from the Golden Dove benefited such outreach projects as EYC mission trips, kitchen renovations, the Ann Mason guild, and assistance to Ebola victims.
