GNN news special "We All Have Our Reasons"

GNN Presents: GNN news special "We All Have Our Reasons" is the product of a qualitative research study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta . The recorded interviews, the opinions and the feelings expressed by the research participants are the data.

The video was made available to GNN for distribution to it's North American distribution network which includes nearly 40 US cities, subscribers to the Dish Network satellite system and viewers of Pride Vision, Canada's gay cable station.

"We All Have Our Reasons" was written, produced and directed by Rob Kanter for the CDC.

The video segments represent the broad range in attitudes regarding trust in government, willingness to participate in vaccine research studies and suggestions for conducting HIV vaccine research. 

Several at-risk groups were the primary targets of the study including, Gay men, African Americans and drug users. The research and interviews were conducted in Durham, North Carolina, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and San Francisco, California.

The video was edited for time consideration with additional graphics and public service announcements, for safer sex, added. Also, 1-866-833-LIFE, the telephone for National Institutes of Health, was added for GNN viewers who may have more questions or wish to participate in the ongoing HIV vaccine study
