Show Information

Washington, DC – GNN, Inc., delivers show #23 another 30 minute episode of "The Gay Agenda" The Gay News Network's forum where issues affecting our community are examined in-depth.

Over the past few decades most minorities, including gay men and lesbians, have made progress in finding acceptance and securing civil rights protection in American society. Transgender people, however, have yet to be understood very well, nor have they found much refuge in the law from discrimination.

Host Darlene Soltys meets three prominent members of Washington's Transgendered community: Earline Budd - of Safe Haven Outreach Ministry, helps transgender ex-offenders find housing, substance abuse program and HIV/AIDS related health care services. Trey Eckles – a proud feminist and female to male transsexual (FTM) who began transitioning in September 2000. Jessica Xavier – a board member of (TGE) Transgenders for Education and Advocacy, she conducted the 2000 Washington Transgender Needs Assessment Survey .

Find out what our three guests face each day when seeking employment, using a public restroom or visiting someone in jail and learn why they think transgender rights should be supported as apart of the gay and lesbian civil rights movement and the employment non-discrimination act (ENDA).
