Show Information
GNN show #16 opens with news briefs, including Scotland Yard's expanded
crime squad unit to protect gays after last year's bombing of an English pub. Footage from GNN producer Randy Legersky's recent trip to the UK highlights this piece. Stories also report on the biological evidence that animals enjoy gay sex, a
male, Israeli Griffin Vulture couple adopts a chick, the District of Columbia conducts its first transgender survey, and a West Virginia gay couples' pot belly pig sanctuary gets new animals. Plus, Michael Boatman of ABC's Spin City, greets
viewers of GNN on this episode. Several PSAs also punctuate the show with the newest messages from the HRC and PFLAG. For our feature interviews, Joe Liberatore goes to Nanny O'Brien's, an uptown DC pub, to share a beer and conversation with
Gay Irish novelist Keith Ridgway. During the writer's American book tour, Ridgway gave GNN his thoughts on coming out in Dublin, Ireland and his first novel, "The Long Falling." Video footage for this segment was made available to the Gay News
Network through the Irish Board of Tourism. Finally, it's time for the conclusion of our two part look at the out-rageous guys of gay punk rock, Pansy Division, who have played over 700 shows in a dozen countries. The four-member band
personifies a style of music known as queer-core and have gained notoriety with songs like, "Nine Inch Males" and "Smells Like Queer Spirit." GNN reporter Todd Ayer goes back stage and interviews the band at Washington, DC's Black Cat night
club before they take the stage for a rocking queer performance. Ayer gets the group to open up and talk about racy album covers, role models and XY Magazine. Viewers will also see rare concert footage taken from Pansy Division's home video
