Show Information
GNN again decided to go with an expanded version of the Gay Agenda after the tremendous viewer
response to the previous, and first ever, half hour version of the Gay Agenda, GNN's public affairs segment. The most recent episode, #15, which was taped in December focuses on one of the most contentious issues currently dividing the gay
community, the upcoming Millennium March on Washington (MMOW). Guests representing both sides of the debate are, David Medina from the board of directors for the MMOW Committee, who came out at the 1993 march and long time civil rights
activist Mandy Carter from the Ad Hoc. Committee for an Open Process. Moderating the discussion is guest host, Bill Line. Line is a veteran news producer who recently covered the Department of Justice and Supreme Court for Fox News Channel on
cable. The 20 minute debate is an engaging discussion that reveals some of the reasons organizers have decided to hold a march and why some folks have decided to not participate. The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) made available
archival march footage from previous gay and lesbian civil rights marches via a video they produced of the 1993 March on Washington. The video is titled "Marching for Freedom." As a companion segment to the spirited discussion,
viewers will see the ongoing struggle for gay and lesbian rights in America today when they see the video "The Price of Liberty." The video was produced by Norman Lear's foundation, People for the American way (PFAW), that works to
promote full citizen participation in democracy and safeguard the principles of our Constitution. "The Price of Liberty" shows viewers why gay and lesbian civil rights are at the heart of much of PFAW's work
