JIM CROMAN Senior Editor Late in the fall of 1996, Jim Croman started with the Gay News Network editing our third episode. Focused and easy
going, Jim quickly added new strength to our GNN team and gave our post-production efforts the professionalism and creativity needed to make us an award winning show. Jim spent considerable time behind the
video editing board for Gay Fairfax and Gay Spectrum, other gay and lesbian cable shows produced at the FCAC CH-10 facilities. For Jim's first assignment with GNN, he masterfully pieced together footage of Olympic diver Greg
Louganis. This piece was quickly followed by work on gothic horror novelist, Clive Barker while putting together GNN's first one hour special and producing two promotional clip reels. After several months of
providing this kind of critical editing support and technical skill, Jim was appointed Senior Editor. Spending several years experience managing employees at Walt Disney
Company in Florida, Jim made the perfect choice for the GNN Leadership Committee's Post Production Coordinator. After editing episodes three and four in quick sessions Jim's skill and technical prowess
earned him this place on The GNNleadership committee. Jim further shows his dedication to lead by heading up the show's efforts to streamline and focus on future post-productions sketching. Jim also
oversees the training of new volunteers who wish to work on post-production projects. Another item soon to be checked off of Jim's list of impressive accomplishments is advanced editing classes so that he may
add more special effects and graphics to the show's production values. Jim is originally from Hazleton, PA. He and his family spent some years in Alturas, Florida before he attended the University of Florida and graduated
in 1986. He and his partner, Jim Armes, have been together since February 1991. Soon after the happy couple met, they decided to set down roots, figuratively and literally, in Virginia farm country. When he's not working on
GNN assignments Jim loves to roller blade, play guitar and watch movies. Jim said he can edit just about any piece with any producer and attributes his natural eye for good edit cuts to the
patience he gets from his philosophy, "the world's a funny place and life is so much easier with a sense of humor." |
