ISP's
NVAIC, the Northern Virginia Internet Access Co-operative, and my ISP. I like them. They like me. Life is good. You're reading this through them now.
Radio Stations
DC 101- WWDC, 101.1 FM, Washington, DC
WTOP-103.5 FM, 103.9 FM, 107.7 FM, or tune in right here.
D.C. Traffic and weather every 10 minutes, which sounds really boring until you're stuck in traffic on I-495 in a Jeep with the doors and roof off and a snowstorm just over the horizon. Plus some of the most reliable news coverage, and live traffic cameras.
Their sister staion, Federal News Radio (WFED) at 1500AM, carries all the Nationals games and a spin point similar to the Washington Post.
The Globe.
Modern rock in the DC area. What the HFS used to be before they went lame.
They, too, have a concert page.
And, you can Listen Live.
'BAL- WBAL, 1300 AM, Baltimore, MD.
All the Orioles baseball games, all the Monday Night Football (and 31 other) NFL games, all the Md. Terrapin basketball games, and lots of other newstalk items. Good stuff.
Tune in using either Real Audio or Windows Media Player.
These will a) launch the player of choice, and b) redirect you to a Yahoo!/Broadcast.com ad, then play the audio stream. Nothing I can do about this.
Radio Margaritaville-WMVL, Internet-only
Contrary to what the name might suggest, this isn't all Buffett, All The Time; Radio Margaritaville is, in fact, a bunch of what Jimmy himself considers "good music".
Tune in in Stereo or Mono. Either way, you'll need RealPlayer.
